about

2009 and there abouts I'd go and meet Dan Bridgwood-Hill to jam in the day time down time at the unit he had at Beehive Mill on Jersey Street in Ancoats. This was part of the same huge mill complex that housed Sankeys Soap all now long gone and turned into apartments.

Long unfolding advancing organic rock jams; reflecting both our interest in how the Neu/Faust/Tangerine Dream vibe faded into the Tortoise/Pajo/Stereolab universe we'd grown up listening to. I'm usually on guitar, Dan is on keys, drumset, violin. Occasionally we think Johnny Winbolt-Lewis and or this guy Harry are sitting in on percussion and or bass when they bobbed in to pick up gear.

Around this time we started to work regularly with artist Naomi Kendrick. We found her practise of music drawing fitted amazingly well with the long form jams we were exploring. We performed as a trio at The Liverpool Biennal, The Whitworth Gallery, Blank Space Gallery, St. Margaret's Church and the Roby Church in Longsight.

Naomi was kind enough to provide a high quality image of a drawing known between the three of us as "the onion" from that time to accompany this release as a cover.
